The answer is wrong. simple logic is. density of ice is less than water. so it occupies larger volume than water. as ice melts the volume it was occupying decreases. so overall volume of system decreases.
A piece of ice is floating in a jar containing water. When the ice melts, then the level of water……..

Remains uncharged
